Aptitude Tests at Fidessa

The Fidessa Recruitment Procedure

Fidessa's candidate selection process is quite a well defined process. After the candidates initial application, subject to the division and position being applied for, most candidates will have to undertake a logical reasoning aptitude test which is believed to be an SHL branded test. After this, if a candidate makes it through the initial rounds, they will be invited to an assessment day or assessment centre. This day will consist of three stages. The first stage is an interview with human resources primarily aimed at discussing the candidates CV and asking questions based around the CV. If the job position is a technical position candidates will have to take a technical test, such as a C++ or general programming test. The technical test is then marked by the hiring manager of that particular division.

Finally, if the applicant passes the technical assessment, they have a second interview which is primarily a competency based interview but it is also designed to assess the applicant's social skills and "soft skills". Candidates will find out if they have been successful in gaining a job at Fidessa fairly quickly after the end of the assessment centre.

How Fidessa Use Aptitude Testing In Their Recruitment Procedures

As previously stated above, Fidessa like to use an SHL logical reasoning test as a means of candidate filtering at the start of the application process. It is not 100% clear at this stage whether Fidessa regard the candidates score on the logical reasoning test by itself as the barometer for taking candidates onto the next stage of the application process, or whether it is a combination of the logical reasoning test score and the candidates general application. It is believed particularly if a candidate is applying for a technical position, such as a C++ developer position, it is important for a candidate to show their logical attributes as good programmers usually have a good grasp of logic. As a result getting some practice at logical reasoning assessments could be very important for Fidessa candidates, particularly to technical position applicants.

Where to get practice for Fidessa Logical Reasoning Aptitude Test?

The only place currently on the Internet offering quality practice logical reasoning aptitude tests is the Assessment Day website. Assessment Day specialise in providing quality SHL and PSL style practice tests in numerical, verbal and (particularly of interest to Fidessa applicants) logical reasoning. Candidates who use the practice assessments give themselves the best chance of interview and assessment success.
