SHL Online Aptitude Tests at Baker Tilly
Baker Tilly Candidate Assessment Process
Baker Tilly, one of the UK's leading accountancy firms, use aptitude tests as part of their recruiting and candidate assessment procedure. Candidates are asked to fill in an initial application form (which is acknowledged by Baker Tilly when they receive it). If a candidate passes the initial form, they are asked to complete Baker Tilly's aptitude tests, which comprise both numerical and verbal reasoning tests. These aptitude tests are online assessments, so as with many other firms such as Ernst and Young and Deloitte, the candidate can take the tests in their own home or in a quiet place at a convenient time.
Candidates who successfully pass the aptitude test part of the assessment will be invited to an assessment day, which is usually held at one of Baker Tilly's offices (but can sometimes be in an offsite location). Candidates may have to wait for some time for the assessment day as Baker Tilly will wait until enough applicants have achieved sufficient marks on the online numerical and verbal reasoning tests to hold the assessment centre. When at the assessment centre candidates may face further aptitude testing in addition to interviews and group exercises.
Baker Tilly Aptitude Tests
Baker Tilly's aptitude tests are not currently produced by either SHL or PSL. It has been discussed that their aptitude tests are quite different from SHL in some ways in that candidates are given a several page document of information to read prior to the test and that the test questions are based on this document of information. Candidates are allowed around 10 minutes reading time before commencing their aptitude tests. While the information is presented in a slightly different format, the types of questions asked are similar to the more standard shl style tests.
